Trey Mancini gets standing ovation in return from cancer
Baltimore Orioles first baseman Trey Mancini missed the pandemic-shortened season last year as he was battling colon cancer. Mancini is now cancer-free, and he returned to the diamond on Sunday for the Orioles’ first Grapefruit League game of spring training.
The 28-year-old was initially given a partial ovation after warmups concluded and received a full standing ovation at Ed Smith Stadium before his first at-bat.
